Saurus Construction’s (pre-settlement) handover building inspection is a service where Clinton Bargenquast, our experienced, independent and QBCC licensed builder, thoroughly inspects the property and provides you with an objective, detailed report — ensuring the building is up to an acceptable standard at settlement.
We pride ourselves on same day reporting. Our report will include digital photos and detailed descriptions of the type and location of any defects identified, so they may be rectified by the builder.
It is a Saurus Constructions policy that we CC a copy of your handover report to your builder this keeping everyone on the same page. Clinton is happy to speak to the builders on your behalf if you wish and will answer any questions either party might have regarding the content of the report
Clinton and Rebecca will meet with the sight supervisor at the invitation of the building company.
**Please Note we strictly only have the sight supervisor present at time of inspection***
We will examine all the accessible areas of the building including:
- The interior
- The subfloor
- The roof voids
- The roof exterior
- The exterior
- The site.
Clinton’s professional advice and detailed knowledge will provide you with a thorough report on the building’s condition at time of inspection we strongly recommend this inspection be as close to handover as possible as a re-inspection is not included.

A stage inspection is a great option if you have concerns but not sure and would like an independent builder who can inspect on your behalf, some of our previous clients have employed us because they were not living in Queensland at the time their houses was under construction and just want us to report back as a 3rd party.

You can forward our handover report to your builder and formally request for the defects to be rectified. Unlike other handover inspection businesses, we are happy for you to arrange a time for you and the builder to be present at our inspection.
